Stay don’t Fade!

How to make your makeup last for hours.

As a professional makeup artist, I get asked all the time how to keep your makeup fresh after the service or just even for personal use. I go more in-depth with how to maintain a long lasting full makeup application.

Whether it’s your wedding or your going out. You go and get your makeup done. Then you realize that your getting shiny in the t zone area, You lipsticks is wearing off and your foundation is fading and starting to transfer, and you smile lines start to crease.

There are ways to help keep makeup put in place. In this article I go in to different ways of keeping your makeup from fading through out the day.

First thing is skin prepping and then priming the skin before makeup application . This is either done by you or your makeup artist.

Prep and prime!!

First: Prep your skin with a proper skincare regimen.

Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, treat, and then moisturize.

A nice 30 minute facial can take care that work for you!

Next: prime your skin with the right primer.

Primers come in all types of skin correcting ingredients.

There is a primer for oily skin called matifiers, for dry skin you would go for a hydrating primer, for skin color correction there are color correcting primers.

Finally: The last part is going to be powder and spraying.

Translucent powders, foundation powders, and blotting paper and or powder, help sets the liquid foundation in place and keeps the foundation from moving and creasing throughout the night. Then setting the completed look with a setting spray.

Then your all set throughout the whole Night!

Retouching: keep pressed powder, blotting paper, finishing spray, and lip products for retouching the look when wearing through out event.

Blog or lightly dust powder on t-zones, expression lines, and smile lines, to take the shine and creasing away. Spray the setting spray to refresh the makeup. Retouch with lip products after eating and or talking.

Then you are good to go, just like it was done in the beginning.
