Highlighting 101

Highlighting in the makeup world terms to me is when light hits the face, it will bring a glow to certain areas of the face. It's an advance makeup technique that has to be learned after the basic makeup techniques. So I recommend learning the basics first before trying this technique to get proper effect. Key areas for this method to focus on are the bridge of  nose, cupids bow, middle forehead, upper hump of the chin, under the brow area, the upper cheeks for that high cheek bone look and the most important part the inner tear duct of the eyes. I own a few products to achieve that glowy look. It could be sheer for a natural "light hitting your face glow" to a "golden goddess kim k glow". So I can't live with out it. There are a few products I recently discovered that stood out to me.

Here are some favs
Nars Albatross
The Balms Mary luminizer
Milani baked bronzer in Soleil
Bitch slap cosmetic highlighter in pink platinum, 24k, champagne diamonds
Benefit Sun Beam
Ben Nye Banana powder
Mac highlighting pen in Bright forcast
Lorac 3d liquid lustre drops in gold

Tools of choice to achieve the look on the key areas mention above
Finger tip pat on area
Fan brush to swipe it on the area
Tulip shape brush to swurl it on the area
Square shape pattern with 2 shades lighter concealer under eyes to give it that kim k highlight with a wet damp beauty blender sponge
